Cliveden House Wedding Photography, Berkshire

Jenny and Gareth were victims of the old Covid wedding fun times! But we are all so grateful because actually it meant that we ended up with an amazing wedding day! It was EPIC! Firstly, Cliveden House is just so incredible, and throw into the mix it was at Christmas time. So Downton, so festive, so luxurious and elegant. So hygge! If you have been following my Insta you’ll know that I’m obsessed with hygge! So in fact their wedding was julehygge! Cliveden provided the perfect back drop for this stunning pair. Jenny in her stunning Miss Stella York dress and white fur shrug. She looked VERY Hollywood! And Gareth in his black tie, I go mad for black tie weddings….so cool and Bond esc!!

Anyway I had gotten to know Jenny really well over the lead up to her wedding as she had to change her day and venue a few times we had chatted lots. She also was a new Mum again so we had a lot in common as I have two little ones (not so little now, but feels like it was yesterday they were toddling about!). Jenny loves photography and values it highly so we bonded over that! She had booked ne of my online training sessions over lockdown to learn how to use her camera more and the when restrictions allowed we did a training session one-to-one. So she was all over the photos for her wedding day! She knew where to take the best shots and had lots of creative ideas. We chatted loads in the build up and I was soo excited to photograph her and Gareth at this stunning location. The day was beautiful, the weather perfect! Bit cloudy, crisp Winter’s day…perfect for light!

They chose to have a very small and intimate ceremony and with family and lots of children, which made it really special. Lots of family reconnected and laughter during the drinks reception, I felt like a friend at the wedding not just the photographer! As the light faded Jenny and Gareth enjoyed an intimate wedding breakfast and speeches. The we went back outside for small sparkler group shots! Always fun and a great way to get more evening photos.

When it came to couple photos we had already discussed that we would spend a bit longer on them as Cliveden has so many amazing spaces for photos. Due to the small guest list too, group shots were a minimum. We were lucky enough to have a fantastic well heated car take us around the grounds so we could warm up in between the shots! Plus if you know Cliveden, you know that drive isn’t short, especially in heels in your wedding dress. So we are very grateful there was help on hand!  There are so many places in Clivden for stunning phtos. The balcony space is alwasy popular, then we went down teh putside steps to teh golden gate where Jenny wanted a veil in there air shot! Her bridesmaid was on hand to help make this happen, and there are some hilarious outtakes from this!! Then we drove down the driveway to take more photos by the beautful fountain and finally off to the Japanese Graden. This space is just so gorgeius for wedding portraits. I then took Jenny and Gareth off for some creative off-camera flash evening portraits at the front of Cliveden to show off the Christmas trees and the grand exterior of the house.

The evening was very relaxed with many more friends arriving for the party! Once J&G had their first dance, I stuck around for some party dance floor action then took my leave. And as I always do, to complete the end of their wedding day story, I took some beautiful night time venue shots as a ‘goodnight’ at the end of their gallery. I love to bookend galleries with location shots. I want the photo’s to tell the story of your wedding day, so you can feel like you were there through the images.

I’ll wrap up now by saying enjoy looking through and if you are considering a Winter wedding or a wedding at Cliveden then I’d love to hear from you!
